The Village is also deeply committed to awareness and prevention of AIDS / HIV and contributes to the community through The Village Improv Troupe, a theatrical troupe made up of adolescent minorities some of whom are currently in Village substance abuse and/or deliquency treatment programs. The troupe makes presentations throughout the Dade County area creating specific substance abuse and HIV related skills to increase awareness and to initiate conversation about families, peer situations, life experiences and day-to-day problematic situations placing youth at risk.
